The fine print: Contest will run through Sunday, September 5th at 5:00 p.m. One winner will be chosen at random. {Mine on Monday – Little Fishies}

Again, no new pictures. I have been horrible about taking pictures this month! Next month will be better, I hope!

So instead, I thought I would share a video of each kid swimming last week. This will be remembered as the summer that BOTH kids learned how to swim. Teagun has always loved the water, but always a little more cautious. Emery, on the other hand, is not. For swimming lessons this year, I made Emery a little older on the registration so she could actually take a real class (instead of the parent/tot class), so she actually wasn’t supposed to take this class until next summer and she passed into the next level! I’m not sure about that though as that level is mostly 5-7 year olds. We’ll see how she is doing next summer (more listening and following instruction-wise) to decide to put her in it or not. But super proud of both, nonetheless!

Jen - I did the same thing last year for my daughter! I made her older on the registration too so we didnt have to do the tot class! {Gorgeous Senior} Spokane Senior Photographer

What a great session! We started out downtown Friday evening and it was quite busy, but we hiked around and found some great locations. Then we headed to the park as the sun was setting and it was gorgeous! Beautiful senior, location and light – can’t ask for more than that!

It was so great to meet you, Jennifer! I hope you have a fabulous senior year!!!

{Mine on Monday} Spokane Children’s Photographer

Monday again already! The weekends go much too fast. We had a nice weekend, getting lots done around the house. I finally got both kids rooms/closets cleaned and organized. I now feel ready for school to start! Maybe….can’t believe Teagun is really going to school already! Just a week and a half of summer left…went by much too fast!

We’ve been busy with swimming lessons last week and then cleaning this weekend that I didn’t have a chance to take any new pictures of the kids, so I’m pulling one of Emery that was taken over a month ago that I never shared on here. We were at Teagun’s t-ball game and I can’t even remember why she was crying…but it seems everything is total drama these days! ;) Poor baby…

{Mine on Monday} Spokane Family Photographer

A few from when we went to the ocean while on vacation. It was not very warm the few days we were in San Diego (as you can tell from our clothes), so it wasn’t quite as I imagined as I had wanted to spend several hours letting the kids play and swim at the beach, but they loved it, nonetheless.

The picture on the left I was trying to re-create this picture of Trevor and Teagun and I had taken on the Oregon Coast when Teagun was about the same age as Emery now. She apparently didn’t like to be lifted in the air though, so I was able to only get this one shot. And I wish the clouds weren’t there, but I still love it anyway.

{My Nephew} Spokane Senior Photographer

My nephew, VJ, is going to be a senior at American Falls High School this year so while we were all together in California, I took some senior pictures for him. He is an awesome kid (probably doesn’t like to be called that…lol) and an excellent wrestler. He has won state the past three years and I’m sure will go on to get his fourth medal this year. As soon as college recruiting opened up in July, he was getting calls from Ivy League colleges and other great schools. I wish him nothing but the best of luck!

We walked around the hotel we were staying at and found some cool little locations. Just a few to share with you.

{Mine on Monday} Spokane Children’s Photographer

We survived our first family vacation of four! We had a great time, but I’m not gonna lie, it was exhausting…will definitely be a few more years before we do it again! We took the kids to San Diego for a few days and went to SeaWorld, the zoo, and the ocean and then went to Anaheim for a week and went to Disneyland, California Adventure, and Universal Studios.

A few highlights of the trip (more for me so I don’t forget):

- Teagun’s first big roller coaster ride at SeaWorld…he was so scared while riding it, but then wanted to get right back on it again when it stopped. However, later in the trip, Jurassic Park at Universal Studios scared him pretty bad and he wouldn’t go on any more roller coasters after that. Hopefully he isn’t scarred from that ride!

- Taking the kids to the ocean. It was Emery’s first time and Teagun loved it just as much as when we took him when he was 2. I, however, am not a fan of the ocean (more so the waves that comes in and knock them over) and was a nervous wreck trying to sit back and let them enjoy it.

- Taking Emery to a stage show where the princesses came out and showed the kids how to curtsey and dance. This just might be the best part of the trip for me. It was so stinkin’ cute and will never forget how her whole body started shaking with excitement when Cinderella walked out onto the stage. Then going to the store after and letting her pick out a princess dress (which she never wanted to take off the the remainder of the trip).

- All the shows at California Adventure, but we loved Aladdin (and we loved all the 4D shows at all the parks we saw them at…so cool). That was probably my favorite park we went to. The Soaring California ride (can’t remember what it is called exactly) there is awesome too.

- My whole family (parents, sisters, grandma, nephews and my mother-in-law) met up with us in Anaheim and it was great getting to see everyone and spend time together. Teagun loves his cousins and I think would have been completely happy just getting to hang out with them for a week.

I’m now slowly trying to catch up with laundry and sleep and will hopefully be back to posting more regularly again here soon!
