{Mine on Monday} Spokane Family Photographer

It has been a LOOOONG time since I’ve done a M.O.M. post!  I took a few pictures of my kids last weekend before school started and before the wheat was cut (and I mean literally cut…it ended up being cut down probably an hour after I took these).  I know I say this every year, but they are growing up way, way to fast – they started 4th and 1st grades this year!

Wow, this past month has been B.U.S.Y!  So much so that I didn’t take but a few pictures with my iPhone, so I’m just sharing some Instagram snapshots today.  Let’s see, a quick recap of the past month.  Teagun ended one basketball season and started another.  He also started playing flag football for the first time.  Emery lost 2 teeth in 24 hours. She started her first ever season of basketball. She went skiing for the first time (and 2nd/3rd). Along those lines, I went skiing for the first time in probably 15 years and she is already way better than me!  🙂  Lots of fun times for sure.

Or also titled “Frozen!”

The area where our house is has been covered in fog for a week+ (though the sun did finally break through today and was so so nice to see!) and the fog froze to the trees and they were so pretty! I had to take Emery out for a little photo shoot yesterday using the frozen trees as a background.

Love her…she is such a trooper!

She really wanted a picture with our dog, Zoey, who was not too happy being out in the cold.  😉

My daughter turned 6 (SIX!!!!) yesterday and this weekend we had a spa party for her and her friends. It was so much fun and all the girls had a great time! Thought I’d share some pictures from the party for this month’s Chasing Moment’s post.

I got the invitation (and what I based the colors off of for the party) from Etsy seller Purpleberryink.

Spa Invite Emery final

Everyone was greeted at the door with a smoothie and asked to put on slippers and a headband.

We had three different stations. Everyone started at the table and we did facials made of yogurt and oatmeal with cucumbers for the eyes, of course. 🙂 Then they took turns at the other two stations which were pedicures/manicures and getting their hair crimped and colored (chalk).

Whew…I survived my first ever at-home party with 8 little girls! 🙂 Really, though, it was a ton of fun to put together and host!

The Zombies are coming, the Zombies are coming!!! 🙂

Last year and the year before I talked my kids into having coordinating costumes. You may remember them being Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf last year or a Ghost and Ghostbuster the year before. Before last Halloween was even over they decided (totally on their own) that they wanted to be Zombies. Surprisingly, they didn’t change their mind throughout the whole year and actually are already discussing what they want to be together next year too. I love it!

I always try to get them dressed up and take some pictures prior to Halloween, especially if Halloween falls on a weeknight because it is normally dark and just plain busy once I get home from work trying to get dinner ready before heading to take them out trick-or-treating. I had kept putting it off because we were busy with soccer every weekend or had something else going on and then last weekend I realized I NEEDED to get it done because Halloween was this week. …Only it was super foggy and dark outside. But, what the heck, they are Zombies, let’s do it anyway. And…it was a PERFECT setting. I couldn’t have planned it better if I tried!

Seriously, the “acting” is all their doing. LOL…They are pretty awesome, if I do say so myself! 🙂

{Chasing Moments} Mine on Monday

It’s that time of the month again for a Chasing Moments blog post!

I have a bunch of kind of random stuff this month. 🙂

We’ll start off with some pictures I took of the kids a couple weeks ago. I bought this skirt for Emery a while ago and have been wanting to get some pictures of her in it and finally got around to it. Love it!

I also took this opportunity to get some Christmas card pictures of the kids…just a couple of ones I’m not using, but still love.

Emery lost her first tooth last week and was pretty excited about it!  She is growing up way, way too fast!

And a sneak peek at a Halloween post I have coming up on Thursday! 😉 The Zombies are coming…

{Chasing Moments} Mine on Monday

It’s that time again – Chasing Moment’s Blog Circle! I’m loving how this actually make me focus on my own kid’s pictures for at least a little bit of time every month! 🙂

Below are some back-to-school pictures I took of my kids earlier in the month. Teagun started 3rd grade and Emery started kindergarten. I had a really hard time with her starting kindergarten this year…I think because she is my “baby” and a she is now in “big kid” school! I wasn’t ready, but she definitely was…she is loving it and doing great!

{Chasing Moments} Mine on Monday

It is time again for the Chasing Moments Blog Circle!

…and I’m totally cheating and pulling some Instagram pictures this month. I have no idea where this past month has gone, and I do have some pictures (we went to Vegas, saw the Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam, my sister got married as you will see in the Instagram pics below), but like I said, I have no idea where the past month has gone and I haven’t downloaded anything! And I’m only afraid it is going to get worse for a few months before it gets better with back to school, soccer and fall photos sessions (my calendar is filling up quickly, by the way, so contact me soon if you are wanting a session this fall).

I’m so not ready for summer to end!

Be sure to go check out Kimberly’s post this month and continue to click through!
