1. We officially got rid of Emery’s last pacifier today. It was long overdue. She had 4 at the beginning of the week and throughout the week I cut the tips on 3 of them. She would try to suck and tell me they were broke so I told her she better throw them away and she did! I didn’t think that would work for her last (and favorite) one though, so I took her to Teddy Bear Junction and she put her last one inside of a “Princess Fairy Dog”. We named her “Bink” (she called her pacifier “binkers”). I haven’t been able to get her to nap today and she has had one meltdown already (when I tried to get her to take a nap). Hoping getting her to sleep and staying asleep tonight isn’t too bad (fingers crossed!).

2. Loving this spring like weather! So gorgeous! And so excited for the first day of spring tomorrow! Hooray for nice and sunny weather! We are getting outside again to take some pictures and it is so nice!

3. Just a little schedule update – I only have one weekend spot left open in April and limited weekdays. And I’m booking into May already, so be sure to contact me early if you are wanting a session this spring and/or summer. If you have a newborn on the way, be sure to contact me in advance so we can get the newborn session scheduled within the first 10 days after birth. Also, watch for my spring mini-session announcement coming out tomorrow to celebrate the first day of spring.

Happy Friday!

1. Last Day to enter THE NURSERY CONTEST is on Sunday. I am hoping people are just waiting until last minute because I know there are some cool nurseries out there in Spokane! Don’t miss out on your chance to win a free mini-session!!! Enter today!

2. I am starting to book well into spring, so if you are thinking of scheduling for spring (or even summer) contact me soon. I have changed my schedule a bit this year and there are only a limited number of sessions each month.

3. Along those lines, I am working on putting together a spring mini-session promotion. So if you are wanting pictures, but not necessarily a full session, keep an eye out! Feel free to email me to put you on the waiting list and I will email out details to you first so you have first chance to book before opening it up publicly as space will be limited.

4. I’m totally slacking on Mine on Monday posts (though I don’t think I have missed a week yet…just have been late the last couple of weeks) . Last weekend, we had a great time hanging out as a family. On Friday we took the kids to Monster Jam. This was Teagun’s third time, but Emery’s first. She was still a bit young and didn’t have the attention span for the whole time, but overall, it was a success.

Then on Saturday we took the kids up to Mt. Spokane snow tubing. Emery could not get enough…she was not a happy camper when our session ended. It was such a gorgeous day too. Loved seeing the sun for a few days last weekend!

5. Daylight Savings is 2 weeks away – 2 weeks! Yes, I am beyond excited and counting down the days…I love my daylight!

Ok, I am adding one more because I had this typed up with my five already and then my friend, Amy, who you may remember did the Bigger Really is Better post a couple months ago just posted another great post that I think is worth sharing! Sooo…

Whoops – I missed Monday this week getting ready for The Nursery Contest, so thought I’d sneak it in today!

Teagun is having his Valentine party at school today. Here are his Valentine’s that he is handing out to his class.

And here is the picture that I used…he is just too cute not to share it big! And what a trooper with letting mom put a big ol’ kiss mark on his cheek. Ha-ha! Love this kid!

{Mine on Monday} Spokane Kids Photographer

On Saturday, Trevor took Teagun skiing. He went once last year with his aunt and uncle, so this was his second time going. I have skied a few times, but honestly, just don’t enjoy it all that much (probably due to the fact that I started off too late in life!)…this *almost* makes me want to learn so I can experience this with him. Almost… Teagun absolutely loves it. We may have to buy Trevor a pass next year so he can Teagun can go together more often. I’m so glad it is something they can enjoy together!

2 pictures pretty much taken one after the other. I seemed to have forgotten how difficult 2 (the age) can be. Go from happy go lucky to flat out tantrum in 2.2 seconds. I will admit it has been a rough couple of weeks here. Hoping maybe some of it has to do with the holidays and being out of our regular schedule, but I am afraid most of it is just due to “terrible two’s!” Just hoping it won’t last her a whole year…maybe she is getting it out of her system early on and quickly! Here’s to wishful thinking, right???

{Mine on Monday!} Spokane Children’s Photographer

I was catching up on my Google Reader today as I often do during nap time and was reading the most recent post from Amanda Andrews and she just started “Mine on Mondays” and I absolutely love this idea and going to do it right along with her. My blog was first started to document my children’s lives since I no longer had much time to scrapbook. And I fully admit I am horrible about printing pictures or when I do print them, putting them in albums, so I use my blog for this. You may have even noticed one of my categories on my blog is “so I don’t forget”…well, that has been lacking lately and I want to get back into it. So I am declaring Monday blog posts MINE (I may throw in other days here and there too)! Stories of what is going on in our lives, what my kids are up to, snapshots of them, funny stories….I guess whatever my heart desires to post about on Monday. Eeekkk…I love it – thanks so much for getting me started on this, Amanda! So, anyone else interested in this also??? If so, be sure to go check out Amanda’s blog as she is having a little giveaway on her blog for bloggers that join her in this! Fun, Fun!

Soooo…what to share today??? Our Christmas was fabulous. The kids are at great ages where they both really got into it this year. So much fun to experience Christmas through the eyes of a child again – I love it! Teagun (or maybe I should say Trevor) got a new Wii racing game and has been quite busy playing that. Emery got a playhouse and lots of new dolls and dress-up clothes…she is in heaven taking care of her “babies” in her house. So fun!

A little funny thing Emery is saying lately (so I don’t forget…wait, that’s what this is about, right??) is “No, thank you!” (imagine “no, tank you” in this sweet tiny little voice) – well, she says this for everything now, which is a good thing, I am not complaining at all about that. But it is quite funny when she is throwing a fit and I tell her she needs to quit crying or she is going to go to time out and she responds (fully in tantrum mode still) “No, tank you, Mommy!” So polite even in the middle of a tantrum…lol. It is amazing how quickly she is growing up – and so sad at the same time!

Here is a picture of the kids I took in their Christmas outfits. I can never get them together, so I am loving this!

And a couple just of Emery because I have to show off her beautiful dress. It is from The Nest Baby Boutique. I won the dress and it is seriously so gorgeous! Go check out their stuff – super cute!

And just ignore her silly fake smile. Every time I pull out the camera lately, that is the only face I get. At least she is looking at me though!

Merry Christmas {Spokane Photographer}

Just wanted to write a quick post to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas! I hope everyone has a blessed and safe holiday!

2009 was so wonderful and I’ve enjoyed getting to know so many of you! I look forward to our continued relationships and making new ones in the next year. Thank you so much for choosing me to photograph your families – it truly has been a pleasure!

Blah…

Sorry for the lack of posting lately. My title pretty much sums up how I have been feeling lately. Not sick, thankfully….just, well blah. I think after college I should have moved some place that was warmer and had more sunshine (though I think this area does have the best summers…can’t complain there!). But the winters always get me. And we don’t even have snow on the ground yet! I think it didn’t hit me so soon last year because Trevor and I were on a cruise to sunny Mexico during this time last year. Maybe I should just schedule a vacation like that every year. Good plan, right?

The kid’s are enjoying the holiday season. They have each received messages from Santa showing as of now they are on the “nice” list. And we are in our second year with The Elf on the Shelf. Teagun had named our elf “Rosie” last year, but when s/he showed up this year, he said that was a girl name and he was a boy so he changed the elf’s name to “Fred”. lol.

Emery just had her 2 year appointment this morning. Everybody is always so surprised when we say she just turned two and there is a good reason for that as she is in the 99% for her height (36 3/4″). Both kids apparently got their daddy’s tall genes.

And a picture from a few week’s ago (when you could actually stand to be outside for more than 30 seconds). Still refuses to smile at me in every picture though.

Man, these are far and few between, huh?

1. I saw THIS printable kid’s chore chart the other day and decided it was time for Teagun to help out a little more around the house. Love how it says “This is how I contribute to my family!” He is so excited about this. We have listed 4 things for him to do everyday and he hasn’t complained once – is actually excited when I tell him it is time to clean up his room…lol. Wonder how long that will last though???

2. Emery turns 2 in 11 days. Seriously? She can’t be two already. I’m having trouble coming up with gift ideas for her birthday and Christmas since a lot of stuff we already have from Teagun (trike, kitchen, tons and tons of books, etc). I asked on Facebook the other day and got a few more ideas, but if anyone reading this can let me know what your 2 year old’s favorite toy is/was, it would be greatly appreciated!

3. Teagun started doing this face a while ago and when we asked him what kind of face it was, he responded, “That’s my 4 year old face!” Seriously cracks me up every time. I have been wanting to get a picture of it, so attempted this morning. This picture doesn’t do it justice though. And he has already been working on a new face for when he turns 5. Funny kid!

4. It’s snowing right now…sigh.

Jolynn and Maurice’s Engagement Pictures

My little sister recently got engaged and is getting married next summer! They live in Vegas so while I was there last weekend we did some engagement pictures along the strip. I had a blast and laughed so much…so much fun!

And I love this series. My husband says he doesn’t “get it”, but that is ok. It was fun and we were all laughing. Good times!
